    The theme of this edition is: "Labor based approaches as solutions for sustainable development challenges in the context of decentralization" Institutional and operational issues of employment intensive approaches will be addressed under the angle of strategies and resources for sustainable funding of labor-based investments targeting local communities, in terms of rational use of natural resources and local materials for labor-based works, development of alternative construction technologies, creation of green jobs and environmentally friendly economic growth, training opportunities to improve youth employability, resilience and social welfare of local communities

    The roundtable discussion and workshop on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) brought together representatives of government institutions, the international community, civil society organizations and academic institutions to discuss M&E mechanisms to improve youth employment programmes in Egypt.

  1. Towards a Common Understanding? Employment and Decent Work in Fragile Settings

    An ILO-CCDP event hosted by the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform with the participation of the Permanent Representatives of New Zealand and Sierra Leone. The event was opened by the Coordinator of the ILO’s Fragile States and Disaster Response Group, Donato Kiniger-Passigli and the Head of Research at the CCDP, Oliver Jütersonke, and closed by the Chief of Cabinet at the UNOG, Mr David Chikvaidze.

    This training, with the participation of international and national trainers and experts, builds on the Innovations in Public Employment Programmes course, offered annually by the Centre, focusing on current policy debates arising from innovations in public employment programmes and how these can contribute to other policy priorities. It includes case studies from India, Ethiopia and South Africa, and provides policy insights to inform strategic decision-making and programme design.
