Seoul Development Consensus: Rationale, current status and future prospects - Employment Policy Department Knowledge-Sharing Conference

The Employment Policy Department’s One-Day Knowledge-Sharing Conference took place on 21 November 2011 at ILO headquarters in Geneva. Its goal was to provide a forum for distinguished external experts to share their knowledge on the evolution of the global development agenda after the great recession of 2008-2009. In addition, by revisiting the framework of the Seoul Development Consensus, the conference sought to assess whether it should and could be implemented with greater vigour in the current economic context of the G20 countries. It was also a great opportunity to discuss how to build a new development framework by sharing different country case studies.
