ILO is a specialized agency of the United Nations

The Social Finance Network (SFN)

When: 07 March 2013

Who they are

Together with the Social Finance team, SFP operates through the Social Finance Network. The ILO’s policy on financial inclusion for decent work provides for a network of staff members who help integrate financial inclusion and enhance efforts in promoting better employment and reducing vulnerabilities.

The network began its function in December 2006 and currently contains 70+ network members across all ILO technical units and regions. Network members identify opportunities for blending financial inclusion into country programmes as well as generate, share and disseminate information amongst Network members on viable institutional practices and policies that yield benefits to households and firms. Network members are trained, supported and backstopped by members of the Social Finance Programme. ILO staff interested in subscribing to the network should write to sfp@ilo.org (Requests and TOR must be validated by the unit director).
