For a summary of the report and its main findings, please see the Information Brief on the right side.

This report assesses the job creation of the RN4 road rehabiliation project with the objectives of contributing to strengthening sub-regional integration, trade and to reduce food production losses due to the resulting opening up of the southern regions in Senegal.

Data on direct employment was collected and expressed as the number of people on different forms of contracts (permanent, fixed term and non-contractual), disaggregated by gender and age group, with a particular focus on young women. In addition to the socioeconomic profile of the workers, the report also looks at some qualitative aspects of the direct jobs. An adapted Input-output technique was applied to estimate the indirect and induced employment effects.
