  1. Innovations in Public Employment Programmes: A Policy Focus

    15 March 2013

    This training, with the participation of international and national trainers and experts, builds on the Innovations in Public Employment Programmes course, offered annually by the Centre, focusing on current policy debates arising from innovations in public employment programmes and how these can contribute to other policy priorities. It includes case studies from India, Ethiopia and South Africa, and provides policy insights to inform strategic decision-making and programme design.

  2. Boosting economic dynamics and job growth: the potential of industrial policies

    4 - 5 March 2013

    The ILO and Friedrich Ebert Foundation organise a joint workshop to exchange experience between Government representatives from African, Asian and Latin American countries, international organisations and researchers on the role of industrial policies in accelerating the dynamics of productive transformation for job growth.

  3. Inter-Agency Workshop: Employment and Social Inclusion in a Green Economy

    4 - 5 March 2013

    The ILO organizes an Inter-Agency Workshop in collaboration with UNEP, UNIDO and UNITAR under the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) and the Green Growth Working Group of the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED). Participants of this workshop will review and compare current approaches, tools and practices to assess and promote jobs and social inclusion in a green economy.

    This year’s theme is “Removing barriers to create an inclusive and accessible society for all”. It provides an opportunity to address the exclusion of persons with disabilities by focusing on promoting accessibility and removing all types of barriers in society.
    The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities recognizes that the existence of barriers constitutes a central component of disability. Under the Convention, disability is an evolving concept that “results from the interaction between persons with impairments and attitudinal and environmental barriers that hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.”
