GET Ahead Resources

Gender and Entrepreneurship Together (GET Ahead) is a gender-sensitive entrepreneurship training programme designed for women and men with basic numeracy or literacy skills. The programme provides women and men with the business management and essential soft skills they need to embark on their entrepreneurial journey.
GET Ahead is designed following a multiplier strategy. The ILO supports and promotes an international network of GET Ahead Lead Trainers who support the global implementation of the programme.
- Lead Trainers are independent trainers or training officers of local training providers who have been selected, trained and certified by the ILO to supervise, evaluate and certify trainers seeking certification in the GET Ahead training programme. They are authorized and recognized by ILO-WED to start, carry out and complete Training and Certification processes of GET Ahead Trainers.
- Certified GET Ahead Trainers are also independent trainers or training officers of service providers. Once certified they are able to market and deliver the GET Ahead training programme to women (and men) planning or already running micro or small businesses without previous formal training. GET Ahead trainers are also able to provide post-training support to the women and men they trained. Find information on the certification process to become a GET Ahead Trainer here

The network of GET Ahead Trainers and Lead Trainers spreads across dozens of countries and regions, including: Afghanistan, Algeria, Cambodia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Iraq, Italy, Kenya, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Lesotho, Mexico, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Nepal, Nicaragua, Peru, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zambia, amongst others.

If you are part of the network, we encourage you to stay in touch and update your details regularly so that we can update our records and keep you posted on GET Ahead news and developments. Please email us at wed@ilo.org should you wish to update your details, get recertified, or need assistance with anything else.
