Inspired trainers can inspire trainees

Shorena Kadidze is a 27-year-old woman, who graduated in law and lives in Batumi, Georgia. In 2022 she decided to create Career Academy, a business to help youth to explore career options, abilities, and interests. Career Academy offers students training programs with multiple components, all designed to help them to identify skills where they are most likely to succeed.

Although information is quite available in Georgia (especially in big cities), the effects of stereotypes and gender biases on career choices are obvious. After attending a SIYB training in June 2022, Shorena decided to create the Career Academy to help young people make better choices.

The SIYB training had a very positive effect on me. It inspired me and gave me the strength to start my project. It gave me practical knowledge that I use in my daily work, such as decision-making tools, marketing, basic financial statements, etc. The 5-day training is so well organized that I started desiring to become a trainer myself, to have the opportunity to share the knowledge with as many people as possible."
