The ILO Project "Boosting Youth Employment is using an integrated approach and this in the framework of the Decent Work Country Programmes developed for Azerbaijan" (2007-2010) and Kyrgyzstan (2006-2009). The project operates with the following objectives:
1: to create a more enabling environment for youth employment, and this by i) promoting social dialogue and expert advisory teams on Youth Employment issues, ii) gender mainstreaming, iii) improving the the business climate and culture and iv) increasing awareness on safety and job quality.
2: to promote, institutionalize and sustain training methodologies for career guidance, skills and entrepreneurship development in and out of school (respectively: Modular Skills Training (MST), Know About Business (KAB) and Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB)).
3: to contribute to closing the gap between the national policy formulation and policy implementation at the local level or for specific sectors by developing and documenting Integrated Youth Employment Strategies (I-YES; 2 pilots for Azerbaijan: Ismaili region and the Baku construction sector and 2 pilots for Kyrgyzstan: Batken region and textile sector).
