Tunisia’s international seminar on green jobs concludes with a set of recommendations

News | 29 May 2013

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Equipment and Environment and the Ministry of Vocational training and Employment of Tunisia, in collaboration with the GIZ and ILO, this seminar brought together over 100 participants to take stock of on-going initiatives and discuss the way forward. The two-day discussions resulted in key recommendations, covering three orientations: i) to promote a better understanding and knowledge on green jobs to inform the policy process, notably through the conduction of a national green jobs assessment; ii) to promote support services for the creation of green jobs and decent work, through a “green economy help desk” and a “platform on green jobs” under the oversight of the two ministers; iii) and to strengthen the institutional framework and enhance coordination between stakeholders for the formulation of a green economy strategy.
