  1. Skills for Green Jobs: A Global View

    This volume examines the experiences of 21 developed and developing countries in adjusting their training provision to meet the new demands of a greener economy. It shows that skills development is critical to unlocking the employment potential of green growth, yet skills shortages are becoming an obstacle in realizing this potential. The report recommends that countries devise strategies based on well-informed policy decisions, social dialogue, and coordination among ministries and between employers and training providers.

  3. Promoting Co-operatives, A guide to ILO Recommendation 193

    The guide is designed to introduce the international policy guideline International Labour Organisation (ILO) Recommendation 193 which provides a framework for cooperatives in the 21st century. The guide helps understand how the 'Recommendation' provides a basis for law and policies on cooperatives as well as how and why there is a need to campaign for cooperatives. Designed to be used in all parts of the world, the publication is written in a simple format to enable ease in translation. It is the result of a collaborative effort of the Co-operative College of the United Kingdom, the International Labour Office (ILO) and the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA).

In simple, understandable language, the handbook deals in turn with the characteristic features of cooperatives, cooperative enterprise as a whole, the promotion of cooperatives and the close ties that exist between the ILO and cooperatives.

  5. Green Jobs Assessment in Lebanon

    The study comprises four assessments in the sectors energy, building and construction, agriculture and waste management. Provided is a general overview of the sectors, the related policies and legislations and the available and planned financing and investments. Furthermore, the assessments allowed estimating the number of potential green jobs that can be created if green policies relevant to the different sectors are implemented.
