  1. Enhancing access to finance

    The ILO approach to enhancing finance for small enterprises focuses on building the capacity on both the demand and the supply side (see Figure 1). Financial service providers (FSPs) are strengthened to be able to provide relevant products, and entrepreneurs are capacitated to use those services most effectively. In collaboration with the ILO’s International Training Centre in Turin, the ILO delivers much of the content by training local trainers, which facilitates significant outreach.

    The ILO has developed the SCORE programme that supports small and medium sized enterprise to grow and create more and better jobs by improving their competitiveness through better quality, productivity and workplace practices. Within the programme, a particular focus has been put on collaboration and communication of enterprises with their internal stakeholders. With this publication the focus will be broadened by bringing to attention the relationships of enterprises with their external stakeholders as well as the relationships among the external stakeholders themselves.
