Action research for improving working conditions in Peru's wood-furniture sector: Scoping study

In an effort to find systemic solutions for improving working conditions, the Lab conducted an action research scoping study to formulate hypotheses around why poor working conditions exist in the market system and proposes actions to test those hypotheses in the market to work towards finding sustainable solutions. This publication outlines the findings of the study, which the project is currently using as a basis for market testing.

While the overall objective of the action research is to improve job quality in the wood furniture value chain, it is also to simultaneously generating knowledge around the best approaches to market system analysis and development as they relate to job impacts. In this way the ILO can improve its strategies for job creation and improving working conditions.
