Certification on AIMS

Launch of Certification Process on AIMS in Peru

Actualité | 25 novembre 2021
Since 2019, the International Labor Organization (ILO) has implemented technical cooperation projects aimed at strengthening the socioeconomic and labor integration of migrants and refugees from Venezuela in Peru, with a focus on the inclusion of Peruvians in vulnerable conditions and the promotion of social cohesion.

Under the framework of the project “Promotion of the socioeconomic integration of Venezuelan migrants and refugees with the Peruvian population” financed by USAID, the ILO has initiated a process of certification and training in AIMS. This process aims to create a network of professionals in the country with the skills to develop an AIMS assessment and support the implementation of market interventions, with the ultimate goal of generating more and better jobs for the migrant and refugee population and host communities.

The certification process is being developed online and consists of two parts. The first theoretical part includes a series of virtual sessions on the principles behind AIMS and the different methodological and data collection tools, as well as self-guided modules, case studies and group exercises. During the second practical phase, participants will develop a total of three AIMS assessments in the regions of Arequipa, Tacna and Tumbes in collaboration with UNHCR and with technical support from the AIMS program of the ILO.

Through training and certification processes like this one, AIMS can contribute to a positive change in the generation of systemic and durable solutions within the framework of R4V and the response for refugees and migrants from Venezuela in Latin America.
