This specific programme seeks to provide knowledge and support on the following broad areas:
- Encourage the Development of an Entrepreneurial culture. Governmental and societal recognition of the key role of enterprises in development and strong support, both public and private, to entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity and the concept of mentorship, particularly for start-ups, small enterprises and targeted groups such as women and youth, are important determinants of a conducive business environment.
- Enhance an Enabling legal and regulatory environment. which facilitate formalization and boost systemic competitiveness;
- Promote productivity through social dialogue and good industrial relations resulting in decent work;
- Disseminate corporate social responsibility practices and assist in the improvement of corporate governance and business practices;
- Establish an institutional framework with the purpose of allowing for the facilitated registration of cooperatives, provide for the adoption of measures for the oversight of cooperatives, and encourage the development of cooperatives as autonomous and self-managed enterprises; and
- Encourage the positive contributions of multi-national enterprises to economic and social progress, and to minimize and resolve the difficulties to which their operations may give rise.
