Employment in China : recent trends and future challenges

Develops a dataset that can be used to analyse employment and labour market trends during the period 1990-2002. Looks at rural and urban employment conditions, notably the growing inability of family farms and of state-owned enterprises to carry the surplus labour that past policies had let accumulate.
