Subject: RE:8 abandonment cases from France Gov.

Hello Katie and all,

The three vessels from Sète Port South France: BILADI, BNI N'SAR,MARRAKECH have been treated by Court cases:

BNI N'SAR Crew is not yet paid but money is in Court (It should be settled in 2017)

BILADI case is settled (Crew paid vessel sold). Few crewmembers are still in process for being paid by lawyer.

MARRAKECH case is settled (Crew paid vessel sold). Few crewmembers are still in process for being paid by lawyer.

For Biladi and Marrakech they are closed and backpay mentionned in our Core System.

Gouv. de Panama (31 décembre 2020)
This case was never reported to the Maritime Labour Affairs Department. According to the Database, all seafarers were repatriated on June 08, 2012.

Gouv. de Panama (14 juillet 2021)
From Panama Maritime Authority
According to the email dated April 12, 2017 by ITF, this vessel case is waiting for Court ruling decision. We kindly to update the status on the ILO database from active to dispute.

Gouv. de France (28 juillet 2022)
In this case, the seafarers were repatriated by France using the resources of the abandoned Maritime Fund - a fund financed by the French State for an amount of 47,100 euros (repatriation + emergency aid for the seafarers)
In recent weeks we have had many exchanges with our colleagues in Panama to try to close this case. However, given that this case has been open for more than 10 years, neither France nor Panama is currently in a position to provide additional information concerning the payment of the crew's salaries.
We therefore propose that this case be declared inactive in the database.
