Base de datos sobre los casos notificados de abandono

Texto disponible solamente en íngles por el momento.

This database contains a regularly updated list of vessels that have been reported to the ILO as abandoned in various ports of the world by appropriate organizations. It specifically includes information on seafarers, who have been abandoned and their current status

During its fifth meeting, the Joint IMO/ILO Ad Hoc Expert Working Group on Liability and Compensation regarding Claims for Death, Personal Injury and Abandonment of Seafarers (Joint Working Group), held in London at the Headquarters of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) from 12 to 14 January 2004, expressed the need for a database on abandonment cases, to be set up as soon as feasible.

The ILO carried out the relevant studies and it was decided, in consultation with the IMO Secretariat, to host the database. The ILO wishes to express its appreciation to International Ship Suppliers' Association (ISSA) for its support in making this database possible.

Governments and relevant organizations are invited to send the appropriate information to the ILO in the form [MS Word template] provided in IMO/ILO/WGLCCS5/3, Annex 2, page 7, preferably by email to the following address: marit@ilo.org or by fax to +41 22 799 70 50.

The designations employed in this database, which are in conformity with United Nations practice, and the presentation of material therein do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the International Labour Office concerning the legal status of any country, area or territory or of its authorities, or concerning the delimitation of its frontiers. The flag abbreviations and register names used are those contained in Lloyd's Maritime Directory.
