An Act to provide for compensation to employees for disablement or death caused by or resulting from injuries or diseases sustained or contracted in the course of employment. Establishes the Fund for administration and regulation of workers compensation.
The Act applies to all employers and employees, including those in the public service, as well as those employed on a Tanzania ship or aircraft. The Act applies to mainland Tanzania.
Repeals the Workers' Compensation Act, Cap. 263.
The law will come into operation on such a date as the Minister may, by notice published in the Gazette, appoint. [notice not yet published 2/12/2011].
