Amends provisions of the Act (BGBl.I 1997/S. 2022) regarding limitation of benefits and denial of benefits if an asylum-seeker refuses certain assignments without reason. Inserts a new subsection 7a requiring in certain cases persons receiving benefits to furnish a security deposit.

Act on benefits for asylum-seekers (AsylbLG).

Provides for clothing, shelter, food and stipends for persons who are applying for asylum. S. 5 provides for employment opportunities for asylum seekers within the framework of asylum facilities, to be paid at an hourly rate of 2DM. Those capable of work who do not accept employment on reasonable grounds shall be subject to a reduction in benefits. Asylum seekers with personal assets shall use these up before being entitled to benefits. This is an official revision of the original Act of 1993.

In the labour law sector the employer has the right to store only data which are related to employment, such as information on age, education, vocational training and employee evaluations. In the case of wrongful storage, the employer is liable for damages irrespective of fault.
