Skills Development and Fair Wage Act (Chapter 22)

Makes provisions in order to ensure skill development training in the construction industry, to ensure work standards on publicly funded construction projects, and to ensure that workers receive fair wages. Part One makes introductory provisons. Part Two establishes project requirements. This includes trade qualifications, requirements to pay fair wages, statutory regulations and regulations concerning subcontractors. Part Three provides for the enforcement of the Act. Part Four grants the Lieutenant Governor in Council the power to make regulations. Part Five makes transitional and consequential regulations.
