Provides that the normal working hours shall be fifty-seven hours of work spread over a period not exceeding six days in a week (provided that the normal hours of work for watchman, stockman, irrigator, plant and pumphouse attendant shall be seventy-two hours). An employee required to work in excess of the normal working hours shall be paid at one-and-half times the basic hourly rate for such time worked from Monday to Saturday inclusive and at twice the basic hourly rate for time worked on Sundays or on public holidays. Also provisions on basic minimum wages, annual leave, sick leave, continuous service, employment of women, children and young persons and termination of employment. Made under the Wages Act, 1964.

These Regulations, promulgated under the authority of section 11 of the Wages Act 1964, provide a minimum wage for various categories of domestic employees. Additionally, they provide for hours of work (a 48-hour work week); annual, sick and maternity leaves; public holidays; rest days; uniforms; overtime pay; and employee accommodations. The Regulation of Wages (Domestic Employees) Order, 1982 is revoked.
