Instructions No. 8 of 1988 amending Instructions No. 5 of 1987 concerning the sailor's identity card.
Alwaqai Aliraqiya
Paras. 4 and 5 of Instruction No. 5 are replaced by new provisions providing that the sailor's identity card entitles its holder to leave Iraq for marine service purposes only (para 4) and that, if supplied with an ordinary passport in addition to the identity card, the sailor shall lodge the passport with the captain who shall keep it until the sailor returns back home or needs it for necessities of service. Adopted by the Minister of Interior.

Sets forth the contents of seafarers' identity documents, as well as the conditions for granting and withdrawing them. Entry into force on a date to be set by the Minister of the Interior, whereupon the Law of Maritime Passport (No. 122 of 1977) shall be considered repealed.
