These Rules make provisions for the granting of licences for the collection, treatment, storage, importation, transportation, etc. of hazardous substances. They consist of 22 Rules and 5 Schedules.
Substances prescribed as hazardous substances are listed in Schedule I. An environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the project involving hazardous substances shall accompany the application to obtain a licence (rule 5). Rules 7 and 8 deal with the issuance of licences, and the conditions and requirements of licensees. Packaging and labelling provisions are outlined in rule 9. General safety precautions and precautions for workers are covered in rules 11 and 12. Provisions on the validity, renewal and cancellation of licences are set out in rules 13-15. Authorized staff of the Federal Agency/Provincial Agency is entitled to enter and inspect the premises in which hazardous substances are generated, collected, treated, disposed of, stored, etc. (rule 16). Safety plans and waste management plans shall be submitted to the Federal Agency (rules 17-19). Details to be provided for the application to licences for the importation and transportation of hazardous substances are given in rules 20 and 21.

In the Factories Act, 1934 (XXV of 1934), in its application to the Province of West Pakistan, hereinafter referred to as the said Act, in section 34, sub-section (1) of section 35, section 36 and section 42, for the word "allowed", wherever appearing, the words "allowed or required", shall be substituted.
In addition, after section 47, the following new section shall be inserted:
"47-A. Over-time. Any adult worker may be required to work overtime; provided that such working conforms to the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder."

Amends section 6 of the Boilers and Pressure Vessels Ordinance (CXXI of 2002) to enable the Boiler Engineers who posses good health duly certified by a recognized physician to renegotiate their contract with their employers for seeking new employment after attaining 60 years of age.
In the Ordinance, section 6(e) is amended to delete the words "and not more than sixty years old or less than twenty-five years of age" and replace them with "and not less than twenty one years of age".

The purpose of these Regulations is to control and regulate the treatment of food by ionizing radiation.
In order to treat by ionizing radiation any of the food specified in the Schedule to these Regulations, a licence shall be obtained from the Directorate of Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection. The Regulations also provide for the types of ionizing to be used, hygiene procedures, technological conditions to be fulfilled for the treatment of food, packing and labelling requirements, etc. Provisions on the issuance of certificates for the import or export of irradiated food are also given in the text.

This Act repeals the Employment of Children Act, 1938 (Legislative Series 1938-Ind.5). In particular it prohibits employment of children under 15 from engaging in work involving specified processes that are dangerous or hazardous to the health of workers. Procedures are also established for implementation and enforcement of the Act, such as the requirement that all employers maintain a register of particulars regarding the employment of any children under the age of fifteen. Pakistan has ratified C59 which fixes a minimum age for industrial employment, but is conditionally exempted under Art.7 from the Art.2 blanket prohibition of employment of children under 15 "in any public or private industrial undertaking".

The purpose of this Ordinance is to control, regulate and supervise all matters related to nuclear safety and radiation protection measures. The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission shall be responsible for carrying out the provisions of this Ordinance. The Commission shall also issue licences authorizing the carrying out of any of the activities outlined in the text including: the manufacture, construction of nuclear installations; the exploration, mining, extraction, sale, import, export, etc. of nuclear substances; the discharge of radioactive waste; and the manufacture, sale etc. of food treated by ionizing radiation. Offences and penalties are also given in the Regulations.
