Interministerial Decree No. 105 of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan instituting a bonus payment for work performed under unfavourable climatic or socio-cultural conditions.

The Decree has the aim of compensating and encouraging persons who accept work in regions in which the economic, cultural and social conditions are substandard and in areas where the climate is unhealthy, harmful to health and dangerous for the physical and moral well-being of the staff. The Decree applies to various categories of employees. The provisions in question distinguish between regional conditions which are unfavourable from an economic, social and cultural point of view and conditions linked to the climate of certain areas of the country. The Decree contains three chapters and 11 tables showing the indices for the bonuses to be granted in respect of each region. Available in English.

Interministerial Decree No. 241 of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan on part-time work performed on a daily or a weekly basis, piecework and job work.

Decree issued under s. 38 of the Labour Code to govern work performed at the workplace or at home by women, partially disabled persons, retired persons and other categories. Part-time work shall be at least three hours per day, or three days per week; rest periods shall not be included in working hours, except for nursing mothers. The hourly wage may not be lower than the minimum wage. Available in English.

Interministerial Decree No. 230 of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan on overtime work.

Decree issued in practical application of s. 53(2) of the Labour Code. A three-member committee in each work unit shall supervise payments for overtime. The Decree lays down the conditions for payment and method of calculating overtime hours. Overtime hours performed on holidays shall be remunerated at double the rate for regular hours, but it shall be prohibited to perform overtime work on certain holidays. The total payment for overtime work may not exceed the employee's monthly wage. Various provisions of the Decree cover officials, workers and service staff. Available in English.

Night work
 
Interministerial Decree No. 240 of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan on night work.

Decree issued under s. 81 of the Labour Code. A committee shall be responsible for setting forth the way in which the Decree shall be applied. The number of hours of night work shall be one hour less than the number of normal hours of work. Night work is prohibited in principle for women and young persons.
