Decision issued by the Minister of Labour regarding work and times in which women are not allowed to work, 1997.

    Adopción: 1997-04-30 | JOR-1997-M-70550

Prohibits the employment of women in certain sectors and for certain tasks (e.g. mines and shipping/dock sector, foundry work, making mirrors using mercury, handling of explosives, mineral welding, exposure to lead, making electrical batteries, pitch, rubber). In addition, pregnant women are prohibited from working in jobs where they risk being exposed to X-rays, oil and petrol derivatives and other substances, which risk deforming the foetus. In principle, women are not allowed to work between 8pm and 6am. Exceptions to this rule include, inter alia, work in hotels, restaurants, airports, hospitals, and accounting where there are annual audits to do.
