The phrase "10 weeks" in Sub Article D(1) and D(2) of Article 6 of the Employment of Women Law of 1954, shall be replaced to "20 weeks".

Article 6(d)(1) is amended: "12 weeks" is replaced by "4 weeks" in the first paragraph, in addition to adding a list of specifications for the leave period allowed.

Maternity leave is covered by the employer if the woman follows the conditions set in the National Insurance Law of 1995, and if she was working in her place of work at least 6 months prior to her pregnancy.

A paragraph is added to Article 6(d) stating that if a newborn baby has to be admitted to hospital for at least the first 12 weeks, the mother is entitled to an additional 4 weeks of maternity leave.
