Ionising Radiation Protection Act, 2005 [No. 16 of 2005]. - Adoption: 2005-09-28 | ZMB-2005-L-86273 An Act to establish the Radiation Protection Authority and to define its functions and powers; to provide for the protection of the public, workers and the environment from hazards arising from the use of devices or materials capable of producing ionising radiation; to repeal and replace the Ionising Radiation Act, 1972; and to provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.

Ionizing Radiation (Fees) Regulations (No. 86 of 1992). - Adoption: 1992 | ZMB-1992-R-66453 Divided into 9 parts. Part 1 (s. 1-3) contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 (s. 4-12) sets forth limits to exposure to radiation. Part 3 (s. 13-15) provides for structural requirements and inspections of buildings. Part 4 (s. 16-18) deals with licensing; Part 5 (s. 19-24) with transport and storage of radioactive materials. Part 6 (s. 25-26) regulates activities of radiation safety officers. Part 7 (s. 27-28) deals with radioactive releases to the environment; Part 8 (s. 29) with exposure from consumer products. Part (s. 30-34) regulates cessation and suspension of operation, and decommissioning and abandonment of installation.

Factories (Benzene) Regulations (S. I. 179 of 1978), as amended up to S. I. No. 158 of 1993. - Adoption: 1978 | ZMB-1978-R-65346 Provides for pre-employment and periodical free of charge medical examinations. Prohibits employment of pregnant and nursing women in work processes involving exposure to benzene or products containing benzene. The same prohibition applies to persons under 18, except where they are undergoing education or training and are under adequate and medical supervision.
