    Made by the Ministry of Labour on the recommendation of the Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Council. Contains 20 articles. The Regulations either prohibit or place regulations on the work that may be required from child workers. A child worker is defined as any person under the age of 18 years old and who is employed by or works for an employer and who receives or is entitled to receive remuneration; or who workers under the direction or supervision of an employer or any other person (article 1).

    Article 2(4) provides that the regulations are to be interpreted in accordance with the Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention, 1999 (No. 182).

Applies to every employer and self-employed person at a workplace where (a) HBA are deliberately produced, processed, used, handled, stored or transported; or (b) an incident occurs that does not involve a deliberate intention to work with HBA but may result in persons being exposed to HBA in the performance of his or her work. Provides for classification of biological agents, information and training, duties of persons who might be exposed to HBA, monitoring exposure at workplace, medical surveillance, records, control of exposure to HBA, personal protective equipment and facilities, maintenance of control measures and equipment, prohibitions, labelling, packaging, transportation, storage, special measures for health and veterinary isolation facilities, disposal of HBA, and offences and penalties.
