Individual sections deal with rules on disclosure, rules on void provisions and format, special arrangements relating to Lloyd's, and special provisions regarding marketing of products.

Individual sections provide for rules on disclosure, on replacement policies, on cancellation of policies and cooling-off, on group schemes and fund policies, and special provisions regarding marketing of products directly to the public, and policy loans and cessions.

    Amends sections 36-39 of the Competition Act 1998. Alters the manner in which the Competitions Court is constituted, and makes provision for the Competition Appeal Court's powers of appeal and review, for the terms of office of the members of the Competition Appeal Court, and for some related matters.

    Sets forth National Environmental Management Principles which shall apply to all bodies of the State and establishes a National Environmental Advisory Forum. Also provides for conflict resolution with regard to environmental disputes and obligations to prevent environmental damage. S. 29 provides that no person may be civilly or criminally liable or be dismissed from employment for refusing to perform work which he or she believes to be hazardous to the environment. S. 31 extends similar protection to persons who report environmental dangers.

    Temporary Removal of Restrictions on Economic Activities Act 1986. No. 87.

    Empowers the President to suspend temporarily laws or conditions thereunder with regard to certain undertakings, industries, trades or occupations, or to grant temporary exemptions, if circumstances exist so that the application of those laws or conditions unduly impede economic progress or the creation of job opportunities. Proclamations of this nature require the advice of the Standing Committee established by the Act, after consultation with the Minister of Manpower, when the following matters are involved: registration of employees and of factories, factory inspection, conditions of service and working hours, use of machinery, and health and safety protection. The Act shall cease to have effect on 31 Mar. 1989.
