    Promulgated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Amends construction industry standards to require that traffic control signs, signals, barricades or devices protecting construction workers conform to Part VI of either 1988 edition of Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), or Millenium edition of FHWA MUTCD, instead of the American National Standards Institute Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways.

    Promulgated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Revises construction industry safety standards that regulate steel erection. Sets performance-oriented criteria to protect employees from steel erection related hazards. Makes provision for working under loads; hoisting, landing and placing decking; column stability; double connections; hoisting landing and placing steel joints; and falls to lower levels.

    Revises the "site of the work" definition of the Davis-Bacon Act to include material or supply sources, tool yards, job headquarters, etc., in the site of the work only where they are dedicated to the covered construction project and are adjacent to the location where the building or work is being constructed. Also modifies definition of "construction".

    Revises and relocates existing provisions from Subpart L - Ladders and Scaffolds and Subpart M - Floors and Wall Openings, and Stairways, into Subpart X, rendering a more logical grouping of the topics. The revision also focuses on the hazards involved when working on stairways and ladders and eliminates what are found to be redundant and unnecessary standards.
