Adoption: 1993-10-08 | USA-1993-L-36559 Amends sections 6331(4) and 6361(6) of title 5, United States Code, by substituting the word "leave" for the words "leave (disregarding any advanced leave)". Provides for annual or sick leave accrued by an employee to be transferred to the appropriate leave account of such employee and specifies under what circumstances such leave shall be available. Also provision in respect to employee participation in leave bank and leave transfer programmes. Repeals section 2(d) of the Federal Employees Leave Sharing Act of 1988.

Adoption: 1989-11-17 | Date of entry into force: 1990-04-01 | USA-1989-L-9220 Amends the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 in respect of the minimum wage, the definition of "Enterprise engaged in commerce or in the production of goods for commerce", certain technical and conforming matters, and provisions relating to special industry committees in Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and American Samoa. Section 6 makes amendments in relation to the training wage, limitation on work hours, and enforcement provisions. Section 7 amends the maximum hour exemption for employees receiving medical education.

The voluntary leave bank programme, established by the Office of Personnel Management, permits employees in approved executive agencies to contribute annual leave to leave banks for the use of leave bank members in medical or family medical emergency situations.

Adoption: 1988-10-31 | USA-1988-L-7470 Amends title 5 of the US Code to permit federal employees to voluntarily transfer leave entitlements where needed because of a medical or other emergency situation. Also provides for setting up the voluntary leave bank programme, in which each agency establishing a leave bank shall have a leave bank board with a minimum of three members, at least one of whom shall represent a labour organisation or employee group.

Subpart A contains rules on certain statutory exclusions and exemptions, compensatory time provisions and recordkeeping requirements. Subpart B defines the status of volunteers who are excluded from the definition of "employee" under the Act, and Subpart C concerns fire protection and law enforcement personnel.
