Adoption: 1998-10-31 | USA-1998-L-52829 Amends the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (USC 213(c)) to allow employees who are 17 years of age to drive automobiles or trucks for work purposes under certain conditions. Inter alia, driving by such young employees must take place during daylight hours, the truck may not exceed 6,000 pounds, and the driving may not involve towing, route deliveries, transportation of passengers, and urgent or time-sensitive deliveries.

S. 203 provides for "zero tolerance" for child pornography, making it an offense to possess one or more items containing visual depictions of proscribed pornography.

Access to Employee Exposure and Medical Records Rule (29 CFR Part 1910) Adoption: 1988-09-20 | Date of entry into force: 1988-11-28 | USA-1988-R-6801 These Regulations provide for access by employees, their designated representatives and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to employer-maintained medical records and records of exposure which are relevant to monitoring employee exposure to toxic substances and harmful physical agents. In the absence of employees' consent, union representatives are required to show an occupational health need to see employee exposure records. First aid records and records of short-time employees are exempted from the records retention requirement. Protection for employer trade secrets is made to conform to the provisions of the standard on hazard communication (ISN 4097).

It establishes the Interagency Council on the Homeless (Title II) and the Federal Emergency Management Food and Shelter Program (Title III). Title VII provides for special education, training and community service programmes for the homeless. The Act also addresses housing assistance (Title IV), health care services (Title VI), food assistance (Title VIII) and extension of the Veterans' Job Training Act (Title IX).

Adoption: 1986-10-17 | USA-1986-L-3150 Extends and amends the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (the "Superfund Act"). Section 126 calls upon the Secretary of Labour to promulgate standards for the health and safety protection of employees engaged in hazardous waste operations. Such regulations shall include provisions regarding training, medical surveillance, protective equipment, maximum exposure limits, requirements for the handling, transporting, labeling and disposing of hazardous wastes, inter alia. The Act also governs civil actions by individuals, imposes a special tax on substances listed (vinyl chloride, chloroform, etc.) and governs a number of related matters.
