Ministerial Regulation (No.14) B.E. 2555 (2012) issued under the Labour Protection Act. - Adoption: 2012-10-30 | THA-2012-R-93543 The reason for the promulgation of these Ministerial Regulations are as follows: Since the Ministerial Regulation B.E. 2541 (1998) issued under the Labour Protection Act B.E. 2541 (1998) prescribing therein that part of the Labour Protection Act B.E. 2541 (1998) shall not be applied to an employer whose employee is engaged in domestic work without any involvement in business operation; therefore the protection provided to an employee engaged in domestic work without any involvement in business operation does not respond to the changed social and economic conditions. It is reasonably to extend the protection provided to the employee engaged in domestic work for more coverage. Accordingly, this Ministerial Regulation shall be issued.

Defines 'Homework' as work that an employer in an industrial business has assigned to a person taking work for production or assembly outside the business establishment of the employer, or other work as set out in regulations. A 'Homeworker' means a person or a group of persons who agrees with an employer to undertake homework. 'Employer' means a business operator who agrees to employ a homeworker, regardless of whether the assignment of the job will be made through him, his representative or by a sub-contract.

Adoption: 2003-12-22 | THA-2003-L-69640 Regulates procedure for granting support to government officials who have been injured performing work on duty. Authority for granting such support lies with minister in charge. Provides that government official who reaches retirement age during illness treatment shall have right to receive treatment until it is concluded. Also provides for inheritance of severance pay in the event that injured government official subsequently passes away. Repeals Act on supporting government official in the event of injury due to public duty B.E. 2498.

State Enterprise Labour Relations Act, B.E. 2534. Adoption: 1991-04-15 | THA-1991-L-22099 Regulates labour relations in "state enterprises", which include both government organisations and companies in which the State owns more than 50 per cent of the share capital. Such enterprises are in effect excluded from the scope of the Labour Relations Act, B.E. 2518 (Legislative Series, 1975-Thai.1). Section 55 stipulates that "the labour unions of state enterprises established under the Labour Relations Act shall cease to exit". Under section 56, the same applies to the Labour Unions Committee and the Employee Committee in state enterprises. Instead, a labour relations committee is to be established in each state enterprise with representatives of the management and "workers' association" of the enterprise. Striking or "any activity in the nature of a strike" is strictly prohibited (sec.19), and although the labour relations committee of an enterprise may examine "complaints", anything involving financial implications must be referred to the State Enterprise Labour Relations Committee, chaired by the Minister of Internal Affairs (see sec.6).
