Provides that parental benefits are paid for 450 days (for multiple births an additional 180 days for each additional child). The guaranteed level of benefit is 60 Swedish kroner per day.

Provides that a parent may give his or her right to parental benefit to the other parent except for 30 days which the parent must take, or else lose one month of benefit. Parental benefits are available for 12 months of which 2 months are paid at 90 per cent and the remaining months at 80 per cent.
