    The President of the Slovak Republic ratified the ILO Convention 154, upon the recommendation of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, on 24th of August 2009; the ratification decree was deposited with the General Director of the ILO on 17th of September 2009. According to the Section 11(3) of the Convention, it entered into force for the Slovak Republic on 17th of September 2010

    The President of the Slovak Republic, upon recommendation of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, ratified the ILO Convention 135 on 24th of August 2009. The Ratification decree was deposited with the General Director of the ILO on 17th of September 2009. The Convention entered into force for the Slovak Republic on 17th September 2010, in conformity with Section 8(3) of the Convention.

    Adds, inter alia, a new section 2 in paragraph 20: trade unions may appoint one member to the work committee. The president of the committee chooses half of the rest of the committee from persons who are not employees of the enterprise. The other half are elected by employees or their representatives in secret elections.

    Comprehensive legislation on collective bargaining between trade unions and employers. Divided into 15 parts. Part 1 contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 regulates conclusion of collective agreements, Part 3 validity of collective agreements, and Part 4 procedure for concluding collective agreements. Part 5 makes provision for deposition of collective agreements of higher degree, Part 6 for collective disuptes, and Part 7 for selection of intermediaries and arbitrators. Part 8 deals with proceeding before arbitrator, Part 9 with strike in dispute on conclusion of collective agreement, and Part 10 with labour law claims. Part 11 regulates liability for damage, Part 12 claims for sickness and social security, and Part 13 lock-out. Finally, Parts 14 and 15 contain common, temporary and miscellaneous provisions.
