Includes, inter alia, provisions on manning and certification, engagement and welfare of seamen, wages, occupational safety, provisions and water to be supplied, repatriation and safety of life at sea.

Act to implement the Abolition of Forced Labour Convention with respect to merchant seamen. Abolishes forced labour in connection with offences by merchant seamen. Repeals sections 222 to 224 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894.
