    Deletes the Fist Schedule of the Employment Act and replaces it with a new list of workmen.

    (3) Labourers
    (4) Machine operators and assemblers
    (5) Metal and machinery workers
    (6) Train, bus, lorry and van drivers
    (7) Train and bus inspectors
    (8) All workmen employed on piece rates in the premises of the employer"

    Makes numerous amendments to expand the Employment Act to cover "non-workmen" employees earning up to SGD 2,000 per month. "Workmen" with a basic monthly salary above SGD 4,500 are excluded from the Employment Act. In particular, the Act inserts a new Part X concerning "Holiday and Sick Leave Entitlements".
