Philippine AIDS Prevention and Control Act of 1998 (No. 8504). - Adoption: 1998-02-13 | PHL-1998-L-54104 Prohibits compulsory HIV testing and discrimination on the basis of HIV status or suspected HIV status in employment and access to services. Provides for the right of privacy for HIV infected persons and access to health care. The State shall promote public awareness, education and information with regard to HIV. Reestablishes the Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) which shall be attached to the Department of Health.

Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 (Republic Act No. 7877). - Adoption: 1995-02-14 | Date of entry into force: 1995-03-05 | PHL-1995-L-43352 S. 3 defines sexual harassment as a request for a sexual favor, accepted or not, from an employer, employee, manager, teacher, instructor, professor, coach, trainer or other persons who have "authority, influence or moral ascendancy" over another. Sexual harassment is committed when such a favor is demanded in return for employment or promotion, or refusal to grant such a favor results in the impairment of an employee's rights, privileges, or employment opportunities. S. 4 requires employers to establish sexual harassment rules and procedures for the investigation of sexual harassment cases. These rules shall not bar prosecution in proper courts.

An Act Strengthening the Prohibition on Discrimination against Women with Respect to Terms and Conditions of Employment, amending for this purpose article 135 of the Labor Code, as amended (Republic Act No. 6725). - Adoption: 1989-05-12 | Date of entry into force: 1989-05-12 | PHL-1989-L-8153 This Act amends s.135 of the Labor Code (LS 1974-Phi. 1A) to strengthen the prohibition of discrimination against women with respect to terms and conditions of employment. It defines discrimination as paying lesser compensation to a woman for work of equal value and favouring a male employee on account of sex with respect to promotion, training opportunities, study and scholarship grants. In addition to penalties provided under the Code, the aggrieved employee may file a claim for money damages and affirmative relief.
