Regulation for the registration of the hazardous chemical materials and relative licences. - Adoption: 1997-07-06 | OMN-1997-R-83514 This Regulation is composed of 7 articles and 2 Annexes. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Any juridical or physical person intend to trade with hazardous chemical materials (importation, exportation, fabrication, transportation, storage, circulation, use and treatment) shall register this materials at the Ministry for obtaining the Environmental licence) after paying the fixed fees (art. 2). The Ministry shall keep a list of all hazardous chemical materials (art. 3). Who trade with these materials shall keep a valid environmental licence with a chemical security data (art. 4). Officers charged by a resolution of the Minister shall inspect any activity related to hazardous chemical materials and carry out the necessary experiments to insure the compatibility with this Regulation (art. 6). Article 7 contains offences and penalties. Hazardous requirements and prescriptions are given in Annex I. Chemical security data is dealt with in Annex II.

Royal Decree No. 46/95 Issuing the Law on Handling and Use of Chemicals. - Adoption: 1995-09-18 | Date of entry into force: 1995-10-01 | OMN-1995-L-83512 Provides for the safe manufacture, import, export, transport, storage, handling, and use of any chemical. Provides that a Permanent Committee for Chemicals shall be set up by a Decision from the Minister, under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary for Environment Affairs and members at the level of Director General from Royal Oman Police, Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Environment, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Water Resources, Sultan Qaboos University, and any other agency defined by the Minister.

Regulation for noise pollution control in places of work. - Adoption: 1994-03-20 | OMN-1994-R-83515 This Regulation is composed of 15 articles. Terms and definition (art. 1). Employers before buying new machines, equipment and instruments must consider the information concerning the, emission of noise from these equipments, level of noise in the function place and acoustic power level (art. 2). Employers shall communicate to the Ministry the aforementioned information to assure the compatibility with the provisions of this Regulation (art. 3). Article 4 defines the level noise in the place of work which shall 85 decibels. Employers shall provide suitable instruments for hearing protection (art. 8). Employers shall give the technical information and instruction concerning the acoustic press ion level and maximum of acoustic pressure (art. 14).
