The WAB contains a number of amendments to flexible employment contracts, provisions on termination of employment, transition allowances, wages and on-call contracts. All Dutch employers are affected by the above changes.

    Repeals the Terms of Employment Cross-Border Work Act (Waga). Implements the Posting of workers Directive (96/71/EC) and the Enforcement Directive (2014/67/EU). Employers from other EU countries who temporarily come to the Netherlands with personnel to perform a job (posting) are subject to the WagwEU.

    Employers are obliged to assign certain minimum terms of employment to the personnel that comes to the Netherlands to work temporarily. The so-called hard core of the terms of employment always consists of the following Dutch labour laws: the Minimum Wage and Minimum Holiday Allowance Act, the Working Hours Act, the Working Conditions Act, the Placement of Personnel by Intermediaries Act (Waadi) and the Equal Treatment Act.

    This decree povides new and amended wage scales for teachers, professors, researchers and other personnel at universities and related institutes. These wage scales include all benefits which employers must provide, such as holiday pay.

    Provides for a year-end bonus for teaching and research personnel for the years 1996, 1997 and 1998. Concerns primarily personnel at the university level and aims at harmonizing bonuses with those provided for medical personnel in health care institutions attached to universities. The present decree amends the following: Legal Position Decree Teaching Personnel of the Framework Decree Framework Position HBO ("Kaderbesluit rechtspositie"), the Framework Decree Legal Position BVE and the VO as regards scientific teaching and research, the sickness cost subsidy and income benefit for teaching and research personnel, as well as the Unemployment Decree for teaching and research personnel and the Decree Sickness and Work Incapacity for teaching and research personnel.

    The minimum wage is hereby adjusted for work done for one month at a time or one week at a time and for work done in less than one week. The minimum wage is established individually for each of the Islands: Curacao, Bonaire, Saba, Saint Eustatius and Saint Maarten.

    This decree is intended to clarify the wage and benefits that are due to a person who works in his/her home on an hourly wage or on contract. With this decree, homeworkers are provided with the same benefits and wage regulations as are provided for employees who work at their place of employment. However, there are some exceptions as regards the flexibility of work time and the amount of hours of work needed to qualify for benefits.

    Provides amended regulations for calculating salary and benefits for employment contracts. This is provided to harmonize the above with the unemployment insurance ("WW"), the Health Act ("Ziektewet"), the General Workers Disability Act ("AAW"), the Disabled Workers Insurance Act ("WAO"), the Act on minimum wage and minimum holiday supplement ("WML"), the Occupations Act ("Beroepswet"), and others. The Act is henceforth called the Consequence Gross Salary Regulations Act ("Wet gevolgen brutering uitkeringsregelingen"); it was first enacted in Stb.743, 1993.

These regulations were initially written in P.B.1972, No.111 and were partially amended in P.B.1978, No.102; P.B.1985, No.55; and P.B.1996, No.22.

Section IV concerns the Fund for the industrial disability insurance for civil servants. Section V regulates the wage deductions and Section VI the adjustment of salaries. Section VII governs the financial claims and obligations of the General civil pension fund. Section VIII lays down further provisions concerning the Fund for the industrial disability insurance for civil servants. Sections IX to XI contains amendments to the General civil pension Act, the General military pension Act and other Acts. Section XII contains transitional and final provisions.
