    Act of 30 October 1997 to amend the Civil Code ("Burgerlijk Wetboek") in connection with the introduction of the parental/guardianship rights to care for children of adults who are partners.

    Following the termination of a marriage which has resulted on in one or more children , one parent shall assume the duty of parental guardianship according to legal divorce procedures. The present Act provides that another adult, who lives as a partner with a natural parent who has taken on guardianship of her or his child, can also assume the authority of guardianship. To be eligible as a legal guardian, the partner of the natural parent must contribute to the living costs and needs of the child and fulfil other related duties. Contains rules governing related matters.

    Decree of 20 June 1994 to amend the Decree to indicate persons compulsorily insured under the Sickness Funds Act, in connection with the Youth Employment Guarantee Act and with the levying of sickness fund premiums over pensions under the General Old-Age Act.

    Adds to the category of persons compulsory insured under the Sickness Funds Act the young persons with whom a preparation agreement is concluded pursuant to the Youth Employment Guarantee Act and who are not considered as workers within the scope of the Sickness Act. Allows sickness funds to levy premiums over pensions paid pursuant to the General Old-Age Act.

    Inter alia inserts a new Chapter 5A concerning the preparation agreement concluded between the Youth Employment Guarantee Organization and the young person, in order to make the young person perform activities aimed at the improvement of his chances in the labour market.

    Declares the Work Environment Act totally applicable to actions of pupils, students and personnel in educational establishments, with some exceptions relating to the specific character of the situation in education.     Aims at guaranteeing employment to young persons rather than unemployment benefits, in order to facilitate the passage to labour market due to the gained experience. Each municipality shall set up a Youth employment guarantee organization, charged with acquiring guarantee positions in the public or non-profit sector. A labour contract shall be concluded between the young person and the organization, to which standard labour and social security provisions shall apply.

    Government Decree to lay down general rules to enact s. 17, ss. 1, of the 1952 Employment Regulations (P.B. 1958, No. 24).
