    National Minimum Wage Act, 2019.

    This Act repeals the National Minimum Wage Act, 2004 and establishes a national minimum wage. This does not apply to part-time employees; commission or piece rate workers; businesses employing under 25 people; seasonal workers; or those employed in aviation or merchant shipping. Establishes a tripartite committee to make recommendations and review the minimum wage. Sets out the obligations for employers with respect to reporting as well as the monitoring and enforcement of the Act.

    Amends Decree (No. 99 of 1993), augmenting the duties of the Secretary of the Commission.

    National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission Decree 1993 (No. 99 of 1993)

    Repeals, inter alia, the Productivity, Prices and Incomes Board Act, dissolves the Board established under that Act and establishes a National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission to advise the Federal and State Governments on national income policy.

    Amends the Trade Unions Act 1973 (LS 1973 - Nig. 1), as amended by the Trade Unions (Amendment) Act 1978. Contains a new list of registered and recognised trade unions and specifies which may be affiliated to the Central Labour Organisation. Also amends s. 5 of the Labour Act 1974 (LS 1974 - Nig. 1) by forbidding deductions, except on a voluntary basis, from wages and salaries of senior employees as contributions to trade unions; other workers may opt out of the deductions system.

    Wages Boards and Industrial Councils Act (Cap. 466) (No. 1 of 1973, L.N. 55 of 1974).

    Provides for the establishment of a National Wages Board and Area Minimum Wage Committee for the federal states and for Joint Industrial Councils for particular industries.
