    Building Regulation Act, 2011 (Act No. XII of 2011). - Legislation on-line

    Adoption: 2011-07-01 | MLT-2011-L-90482

    Provides for matters relating to the construction of buildings and other matters connected therewith and to make consequential and other amendments. The Act establishes a Building Regulation Board, which inter alia, is to manage aspects of health and safety on building sites.

    The Act gives the Minister the power to amend, substitute or repeal any of Part V of the Code of Police Laws (Cap. 10).

    Repeals the whole of the Building (Price Control) Act (Cap. 288).

    This Act has been notified in terms of Directive 98/34/EC, as amended by Directive 98/48/EC, as transposed by the Notification Procedure Regulations, 2003.

    Set out provisions concerning general obligations, the Safety and Health Document to be drawn up and kept by employers, cases in which there are workers from several companies, protection from fire and explosives, escape and rescue facilities, warning and alarm systems, keeping workers informed, medical examinations, health and safety representatives. The regulations not apply to mineral-extraction by dredging.
