    Establishes that all employees shall be entitled to time off from work on grounds of force majeure for urgent family reasons in cases of sickness or accident making immediate presence of employee indispensable. Minimum total of 15 hours with pay per year shall be granted to every employee as time off from work for urgent family matters.

    Made under Employment and Industrial Relations Act. Sets forth minimum requirements designed to facilitate reconciliation of parental and professional responsibilities for working parents. Establishes right of male and female workers to be granted unpaid parental leave on the grounds of birth, adoption or legal custody of a child to enable them to take care of that child for a period of three months until the child has attained the age of eight years. Also makes provision for right to return to same job, entitlement of employees during parental leave, unfair dismissal and some related matters.

Limits the application of Scheme No. 8 relating to maximum work hours in connection with the occupations of cooks in hotels, clubs and restaurants and hospitals. Provides for minimum remuneration, minimum daily rest, minimum weekly rest, minimum overtime rates for certain classes of employees, sick leave, and certain other matters.
