    Makes provision for the enforceability of set-off and netting on bankuptcy or insolvency. "Netting" means the conversion into one net claim or one net obligation of claims and obligations arising under any contract with the result that only a net claim can be demanded or a net obligation be owed.

    Made under Employment and Industrial Relations Act. Applies to transfers of undertakings and businesses to another employer. Establishes that, in the event of tranfers, articles 38(1) and (3) of the Act shall apply in relation to employees' rights to old age, invalidity or survivors' benefits under supplementary company pension schemes outside provisions of Social Security Act. Also provides for safeguarding of other employee rights in the event of transfer (such as prohibition of dismissal), and stipulates duty of transferor and transferee to inform employee's representatives.

    Made under Employment and Industrial Relations Act. Applies to employees' claims for unpaid wages arising out of contracts of service and existing against employers who are in a state of insolvency. Provides for establishment of Guarantee Fund which shall be utilised to guarantee payment of employees' outstanding claims for wages resulting from contracts of service. Also regulates administration of Guarantee Fund.

Sets forth principle of non-discrimination of employees on a contract of service for a fixed term. Also provides for employer's duty to inform employees of vacancies, access to training opportunities for employees on fixed-term contracts as well as some related matters.

    Made under Employment and Industrial Relations Act. Makes provision for equal treatment of part-time workers, and for improvement of quality of part-time work. Also aims at facilitating development of part-time work, and at contributing to flexible organisation of working time. Establishes duty of employer to ensure that part-time employee not be treated less favourably than comparable full-time worker. Differential treatment is allowed on objective grounds. Also deals with leave of part-timers, computation of pro-rata leave entitlement, entitlement to participate in vocational training, unfair dismissal of part-time employee as well as some related matters.

    These Regulations under s.26 of the Employment and Training Services Act, 1990 (No. 28 of 1990) provide for employment cards to be issued by the Corporation for all those who are "gainfully occupied" or are seeking a gainful occupation. Employment cards shall not be issued to minors of compulsory school age. Employers must inform the Corporation when it engages new employees, and new employees must likewise inform the Corporation.

Limits the application of Scheme No. 8 relating to maximum work hours in connection with the occupations of cooks in hotels, clubs and restaurants and hospitals. Provides for minimum remuneration, minimum daily rest, minimum weekly rest, minimum overtime rates for certain classes of employees, sick leave, and certain other matters.
