    Establishes a new Labour Code which applies to the labour relations arising after the entry into force of this law except for the cases described in paragraphs 6-11 of article 6 of this law.
    Repeals the previous Labour Code No. IX-926 with all its amendments and supplements; also the Law No. IX-2500 "On Labor Sites"; the Law No. XI-1379 "On the Recruitment of Temporary Employment Companies"; the Law No.X-199 "On Guarantees for Staff"; the Law No. I-1214 "On Determination of Late Payment of Benefits Related to Employment Relationships".
    The new Labour Code includes:
    Part I: General provisions
    Part II: Individual relationships
    Part III: Collective labor relations
    Part IV: Labor disputes.
    Implements,inter alia, the following legislation of the European Union:

    This law seeks to reimburse the losses of remuneration/salary disproportionately reduced as a result of the economic crisis incurred by persons who are paid for their work from the state or municipal budget, which would not have been incurred, had the uniform and proportionate reduction of remuneration/salary at the aforementioned scale been ensured.
    Article 1 sets the scope of the law; Article 2 introduces the procedure for calculating and paying reimbursement of the losses of remuneration/salary; Article 3 sets the source of financing of repayable sums.

    Paragraph 2 enters into force on 29 May 2014.

    Introduces minor changes in the wording of article 2.1(4) on principles of legal regulation of labour relations. This relationship is subject to a number of principles. The following words in capitals have been inserted into article 2.1(4)
    "equality of subjects of labour law irrespective of their gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, language, origin, citizenship and social status, religion, INTENTION TO HAVE A CHILD (CHILDREN), marital and family status, age, beliefs or views, membership in political parties and public organisations, factors that are not related to the employee's professional qualities".

    Regulates the rest days coinciding with public holidays. Provides for transfer of these days to the nearest work day. In certain cases the transfer can be regulated by a collective agreement.
