    Consolidated through L.N. 130 of 1969. The Factories Act (basic text) has since been repealed by article 129 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 (Act No. 15 of 2007), which becomes the new basic text for this Regulation. Article 129(2)(b) provides that:

    "any subsidiary legislation issued before the commencement of this Act shall, as long as it is not inconsistent with this Act remain in force until repealed or revoked by subsidiary legislation under the provisions of this Act and shall, for all purposes be deemed to have been made under this Act."

Part V describes the rights and duties of trade unions and Part VI regulates the constitution thereof. Parts VII and VIII describe rules relating to the property, funds and accounts of unions. Part IX pertains to picketing, intimidation and other matters relating to disputes. Part XI deals with offences and penalties. Consolidates text from 1952 to 1970.

Part II covers the employer's liability for compensation for death or incapacity resulting from accident, compensation in fatal cases, total, partial and temporary incapacity, method of calculating earnings, persons entitled to compensation and the distribution thereof. This part also covers notice requirements, medical examinations and dispute resolution procedures, as well as insurance requirements, provisions in case of a bankrupt employer, and specific provisions for seafarers and workers employed by contractors. Part III states rates for compensation of medical expenses and Part IV prescribes compensation for occupational diseases. Consolidates text from 1949 to 1970.
