  1. Kenya - Protection against particular hazards - Regulation, Decree, Ordinance

    The Factories (Electric Power)(Special) Rules, 1979 [L.N. No. 340]

    Adoption: 1979-12-20 | KEN-1979-R-28303

    Pursuant to the Factories Act, Chapter 514, sets forth safety standards for the construction, installation and maintenance of electrical fixtures and apparatus in factories. The Factories Act has since been repealed by article 129 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 (Act No. 15 of 2007), which becomes the new basic text for this Regulation. Article 129(2)(b) provides that:

    "any subsidiary legislation issued before the commencement of this Act shall, as long as it is not inconsistent with this Act remain in force until repealed or revoked by subsidiary legislation under the provisions of this Act and shall, for all purposes be deemed to have been made under this Act."

    The Factories Act (the basic text) has since been repealed by article 129 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 (Act No. 15 of 2007), which becomes the new basic text for this Regulation. Article 129(2)(b) provides that:

    "any subsidiary legislation issued before the commencement of this Act shall, as long as it is not inconsistent with this Act remain in force until repealed or revoked by subsidiary legislation under the provisions of this Act and shall, for all purposes be deemed to have been made under this Act."

  3. Kenya - Protection against particular hazards - Miscellaneous (circular, directive, legal notice, instruction, etc.)

    The Factories Act (Chapter 514) Notice of exception - steam boilers (steam tube ovens and steam tube hotplates) [L.N. No. 47]

    Adoption: 1965-02-11 | KEN-1965-M-28384

    Exempts steam boilers, steam tube ovens and steam tube hotplates from sections 37(2) and(8) of the Factories Act, Chapter 514. The Factories Act has since been repealed by article 129 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 (Act No. 15 of 2007), which becomes the new basic text for this Regulation. Article 129(2)(b) provides that:

    "any subsidiary legislation issued before the commencement of this Act shall, as long as it is not inconsistent with this Act remain in force until repealed or revoked by subsidiary legislation under the provisions of this Act and shall, for all purposes be deemed to have been made under this Act."

    The Factories Act has since been repealed by article 129 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 (Act No. 15 of 2007), which becomes the new basic text for this Regulation. Article 129(2)(b) provides that:

    "any subsidiary legislation issued before the commencement of this Act shall, as long as it is not inconsistent with this Act remain in force until repealed or revoked by subsidiary legislation under the provisions of this Act and shall, for all purposes be deemed to have been made under this Act."

    Consolidated through L.N. 87 of 1964. The Factories Act has since been repealed by article 129 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 (Act No. 15 of 2007), which becomes the new basic text for this Regulation. Article 129(2)(b) provides that:

    "any subsidiary legislation issued before the commencement of this Act shall, as long as it is not inconsistent with this Act remain in force until repealed or revoked by subsidiary legislation under the provisions of this Act and shall, for all purposes be deemed to have been made under this Act."
