    This law amends Section 5 paragraphs (a) and (b) of the Sick Pay Law of 1976, stating that the rate of sick pay compensation is increased from 75% to 100 % of the ordinary salary.

    An additional paragraph is added to the end of Section 148(a) of the National Insurance Law of 1995, stating that the Institution may deduct from the work injury allowance of a disabled person a nursing insurance contribution payment, provided that the disabled person gave a prior written consent for this deduction.

    Article 1 of the law is amended to state:
    An Employee is allowed to take sick leave when his child(under the age of 16) is sick, from his usual sick leave days.
    Two conditions are set for this article to be applied:
    1. The other parent didn't take sick leave to take care of the sick child.
    2. The employee is an only parent.

    Provides 6 days of sick leave for an employee to care for a sick child, provided that his or her spouse is also employed and is not absent from work under the same entitlement. In cases of a malignant disease and where the employee has worked for the same employer for more than one year, leave of up to 60 days may be granted.

    Amends section 7(a1) of the Law, 5719-1959 [consolidated version] by inserting a new sub-paragraph (5) concerning the right for disabled persons whose degree of invalidity is 100% to receive 40% more in addition to the ordinary pension. Also amends section 7C concerning increasing the invalidity benefit of persons over the age of 50 years whose degree of invalidity is 100%.

    Provides that an employer shall, for every one of his employees who is a resident of Israel and for whom he is liable to pay National Insurance contributions, pay a parallel tax at a specified rate of the income of the employee. A self-employed persons shall himself pay the parallel tax. This does not affect the obligation of an employer to pay parallel tax for a former employee entitled to retirement pension. Where an employer is liable to pay parallel tax to a sick-fund for his employees under a collective agreement, contract of employment or any other agreement, the parallel tax he is liable to pay under this Law shall be deducted from such payment.
