    The objective of the Law is to determine arrangements for the distribution of retirement funds provided by a "paying body" to an employee or a retiree (the saver) and his/her former spouse, including a "person who is known in public as his/her spouse."

    Amends the Single Parent Family law of 1992, so that the phrase "Single Parent Family" is replaced by the phrase "Family Headed by an Independent Parent."

    The phrase "Single Parent" has been replaced with "Independent Parent."

    An additional paragraph (a) is added to Section No. 7 of Male and Female Workers Equal Pay Law of 1996, provided as follows: " 5 years limitation period applying to claims under this Law".

    This Law repeals Paragraph (a) of Section No. 8 of Male and Female Workers Equal Pay Law of 1996.

    Three sub articles added to Article 13 of the Employment of Women Law of 1954:
    1. Article 13(a)- Jurisdiction and Remedies.
    2. Article 13(b)- The action for the violation of the law can be submitted by: the employee, trade union, human rights organization working on labour law.
    3. the Court can allow the plaintiff to present its case as they choose.

    Different amendments were made to the law:
    - Article 1(8) is changed, and an extra paragraph is added after the second paragraph.
    - Several amendments to Article 2.
    - In Article 4 "3 years" are replaced by " 6 years"
    In addition several explanations are provided on when payments for maternity leave starts and for how long.

    Prohibits sexual harassment in order to protect human dignity, liberty and privacy, as well as to promote equality between the sexes. Enumerates acts constituting sexual harassment. Regulates sexual harassment as offences and as civil wrongs, steps to be taken by an employer, jurisdiction of the labour court, and some related matters.

    Provides that single parents are entitled to preference for acceptance of his or her children in day nurseries. Single parents are also entitled to preference for vocational training under conditions and rules established by the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. The Government shall give to single parents increased loans for housing needs.

    Amends sections 6 and 7 concerning sickness leave during maternity leave. Replaces section 9 concerning restrictions as to dismissal. Also amends the National Insurance Law [consolidated version], 5728-1968 by inserting after section 103B a new Article 5 concerning Pregnancy Preservation Allowance.

    Provides that an employer may not disciminate among his employees or among persons seeking employment on account of their sex, sexual tendencies, personal status or being parents in respect of acceptance, terms and advancement in employment, vocational training or supplementary vocational training or dismissal or severance pay. Provides that where, under the terms of employment applying at her place of employment, a female employee is entitled to absence from work by reason of illness of her child, such right shall also vest in a male employee employed at a place where the terms apply if his spouse is an employee and is not absent from work by virtue of entitlement as aforesaid or has sole custody of the child. Also regulates sexual harassment, protection of complainant, jurisdiction, remedies and related matters.

    Male and Female Workers (Equal Retirement Age) Law, 5747-1987. - Law on-line in English

    Provides that when a collective agreement prescribes a retirement age for a female worker lower than that prescribed for a male worker, the woman shall have the right to retire at any age between those two ages. Contains a provision saving rights vested in any female worker by law, collective agreement or otherwise.

    Employment (Equal Opportunities) Law, 5741-1981

    Prohibits discrimination on grounds of sex or marital status. Inspectors are to be appointed to supervise its application, and a council is to be established to advise the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs on related matters.

    Male and Female Workers (Equal Pay) Law, 5724-1964 (consolidated text).

    Provides that an employer shall pay to a female worker a wage equal to the wage paid to a male worker at that place of employment for the same or substantially the same work. Where a disagreement arises as to the wage to which a female worker is entitled, the worker, the employer or the workers' committee in that place may request the decision of a regional court. Applies to the State as an employer. Repealed.

    Contains provisions on the prohibition of night work (with exceptions), absences from work, protection from dismissal during maternity leave, register of female workers, labour inspection, penalties. Repeals the Employment of Women Ordinance 1945.
